Le nombre d'Ukrainiens fuyant la guerre vers les pays voisins a atteint 1,5 million en 10 jours selon le Haut Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les réfugiés.
Il s'agit de la crise migratoire qui connaît "la croissance la plus rapide en Europe depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale", a indiqué dans un tweet le Haut Commissaire aux réfugiés Filippo Grandi.
Environ un million de personnes ont cherché refuge en Pologne. Pour la plupart, des femmes et des enfants. Les hommes étant restés sur place pour combattre.
Mais la famille de Yevhen Chonomordenko a plus de chance : Yevhen est Ukrainien, et lorsque la guerre a éclaté dans son pays, il travaillait en Pologne. Ce n'est que 11 jours plus tard qu'il a enfin pu retrouver sa femme et ses deux jeunes enfants, qui ont fait tout le chemin de Kyiv à la frontière polonaise.
Pour l'heure, Yevhen ne sait pas s'il retournera en Ukraine, sa priorité étant de trouver un endroit sûr pour sa famille.

120 000 réfugiés en Hongrie
Pour la plupart des réfugiés, traverser la frontière est un voyage vers l'inconnu. La Hongrie a jusqu'à présent vu arriver plus de 120 000 personnes, qui sont contrôlées et enregistrées. Des bénévoles et des interprètes les accueillent avec de la nourriture.
Des réfugiés ont également fui vers la Roumanie, la Slovaquie, la Moldavie et même la Russie.
